FAQS

Q1.  How do I order?
Answer:- Simply fill in the order form on our home page.

Q2. How do I enter my unlock code?
Please see our instructions at: www.UnlockTelecom.co.uk/codeguide where simple instructions are listed to enter your unlock code for your make of phone. Instructions vary with each manufacturer, however we always keep it as simple as possible, with no technical jargon!

Q3.  Is unlocking legal?
Answer:- Yes! Unlocking is 100% legal! It is not to be confused with mobile unblocking which involves the changing of the serial number (i.e. for stolen or lost phones), which is illegal.

Q4.  Why UnlockTelecom?
Answer:- The UnlockTelecom team have many years experience in Telecommunications. Our industry contacts and technical methods give us the know-how and means of obtaining unlock codes for many handsets, whether calculated in house or obtained by the manufacturer or network.

Q5. How will I receive my unlock code?
Answer:- By email. Some codes must be manually calculated and will be emailed to you within 24 hours. Blackberry codes can take 4 to 18 days as they come from the manufacturer.

Q6. Do I need to send in my phone?
Answer:- No, unlocking information is provided by email and on screen. For all unlock codes we provide remote unlocking which means you simply enter the code into your handset which will remove any sim-locks present.

Q7. How can I find the IMEI number?
Answer:- The IMEI number is usually displayed by typing *#06# and is also shown on a sticker underneath the battery.

Q8.  I haven’t received my unlock information what do I do?
Answer:- Please login using your IMEI from your receipt using this link on the top of every page to track your order.
www.UnlockTelecom.co.uk/myorder.asp

Q9.  My phone is asking for a PUK code. What does this mean?
Answer:- If a phone is asking for a PUK code, this means that there have been 3 invalid attempts on entering the SIM cards PIN number. This means the sim card is blocked. The network provider (e.g. O2) will provide the PUK code to the account holder, usually free of charge. Unlocking your handset will not bypass this message.

Q10.  Once my phone is unlocked, what networks can I use.
Answer:- When you have unlocked your phone, you are free to use any network in any country (providing the phone supports the network you wish to use).
